  • Arab Barometer’s eighth wave is one of the most in-depth publicly available surveys in the Middle East and North Africa that sheds light on the views of MENA citizens and their changing priorities, needs, and concerns in a rapidly evolving region.
  • This round of surveys began in September 2021.
  • Nationally representative face to face surveys are planned or have been completed in Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia. Exclusion of other countries was either due to funding limitations, ongoing instability, or government restrictions on full and fair access in our ability to conduct the survey.
  • Arab Barometer plans to interview more than 15,000 citizens about a wide range of topics including but not limited to the situation in Gaza, international relations, the economy, government trust and performance, gender norms and the status of women, identity and discrimination, and the environment.
  • The 45-minute, computer tablet-based interviews are conducted in private and face-to-face with individuals randomly selected to fairly represent their communities.
